Also referred to as Voice XML, a language for creating voice-user interfaces to create Web content and services that can be accessed by phone. It uses speech recognition and/or touchtone for input, and uses pre-recorded audio and text-to-speech for output. VXML 1.0 was ther result of a joint effort by AT&T, IBM, Lucent and Motorola.to promote this standard. The upcoming Release 12 of NuPoint IP Messenger will have a VXML toolkit that can be used for custom applications.
