Octel Visual Messenger is the first application to utilize the foundation provided by OMD’s OpenOctel™ architecture. It is an open, standards-based solution that can be implemented enterprise-wide on most Windows personal computers and within most networks. For many customers, this means it can be used today. No upgrades to personal computers, operating systems or networks required. It is easily deployed and administered and requires minimal user training.

DIGITAL AND ANALOG NETWORKING

Aria software supports analog and digital networking to easily and cost-effectively exchange voice and fax messages between locations—an advantage that brings high performance, low cost and efficient management to the messaging infrastructure. OctelNet™ enables full-featured messaging between Octel message servers via analog connections. The NameNet™ feature allows users to dial by name and hear name confirmation—even when the recipient is on another server.

The optional Aria digital networking utilizes the same delivery schedules, network addressing and user interface as OctelNet but connects the message server to the corporate data network in order to transmit voice and fax messages directly over existing wide area networks (WANs). OMD also offers DecisionPro™—a powerful, flexible, Windows-based reporting tool. The optional DecisionPro downloads data from the message server, then synchronizes, collates and loads it into an industry-standard relational database.
