Virtual Solutions - Data Center

VMWare users can add telephony and Unified Communications capabilities to their Server Virtualization Software in their Data Center.

CommuniTech Services offers Mitel's real-time voice communications applications running in a virtualized data center environment. Users can leverage industry standard servers to optimize IT resources, reduce power consumption, maximize storage space and deliver business continuity.

By breaking down the barriers between the ‘telecom closet’ and the data center, IT managers can minimize voice management tasks, consolidate voice and non-voice applications on a single server, and ensure that the data is safe and the server can still be accessed in case of a disaster.

The flexibility provided by virtualization means deployment and management of mobility, conferencing, collaboration and other voice software and applications are simplified, resulting in lower capital and operating costs. Virtualization is more than just a data storage software, it is a complete data center solution.

CommuniTech Services now offers Mitel® and VMware® vSphere mission-critical voice applications and Unified Communications that can be virtualized alongside other enterprise business applications in the mainstream data center.

The Voice Problem

Virtualizing real-time applications like voice communications is extremely complex, due to the stumbling-block of latency but these problems are now solved. Mitel's unified communications features run as virtual appliances on VMware vSphere™ 4 virtualization platform. Like any other application, the Mitel software can be downloaded and installed on any data-center server that's running VMware vSphere.

VMWare Tools with Mitel Virtualization Telephony and UC

The first Mitel Virtual Solution was the Virtual Mitel Communications Director (Virtual MCD) which is the core of the unified communications system, providing call control for the IP voice path. Also available as VMware Ready™ applications are Mitel Enterprise Manager, Mitel Contact Center Solutions as well as virtual appliances for Virtual Mitel Applications Suite (including Mitel NuPoint Unified Messaging™ (UM) and Mitel Audio & Web conferencing (AWC)), Virtual Mitel Border Gateway (for the Mitel Teleworker Solution), and Mitel Unified Communicator® (UC) Advanced.

Virtualized Voice in the Data Center

CIOs can now treat voice like any other business application in the data center. With the voice virtualization chasm spanned, CIOs are crossing over to a data center in which virtualized, unified communications helps enterprises respond to today’s market challenges.
